Sept. 14-16 - Wedding. For the first time, we hosted a small wedding at our place and we were glad to be able to share our beautiful home with the young couple and their family and friends on their very special day.

 

May 20 - Birding Field Trip and Special Dining Experience with Field Guides For the past three years, John Rowlett, one of the founders and expert bird tour leaders of Field Guides leads a trip on Virginias’ Warblers. One of the highlights of the trip is the time the group spends in the highlands of Western Virginia, which includes a trip to our farm to see Golden-winged Warblers and other high elevation birds. We end the day with a fabulous meal, catered by our local catering company.

Sept. 21-22 - Our scrapbooking group, Creative Memories, returned for their second visit this season and their fourth year in a row!!!!

May 25-27 - A wonderful family reunion with our good friends, the O’Donnell’s

St. Anne's Science GroupSept 29-30 and Oct. 20-21 - St. Anne’s-Belfield School Environmental Sciences classes conducted field studies as part of their course on the Chesapeake Bay. Patti and Tom served as instructors, working with the teachers from St. Anne’s. This is the 3rd year we have hosted these students.St. Anne's Science Group

July 13-15 - Simply Yoga of Charlottesville return for another weekend of yoga, relaxation and fun with friends.

Oct 12-14 - Old Dominion University geology class returned for the third year to study the unique geological formations and processes of Highland County.

August 3-5 - Mountain Mama Bike Event. Every year our cabins and camping area are filled with bikers for this unique biking event in our county. Make your reservations early, as we fill up way in advance.

 

McLean Orchestra at Bear MountainAugust 23–26 - McLean High School Chamber Soloists. For the second year in a row, the beautiful sounds of music filled our mountains as this talented group spends three days polishing their musical skills and performing in a local concert enjoyed by the whole community. October 2007 Sunrise at Bear MountainSept. 7-9 - Charlottesville Astronomical Society. This is the fourth year that this group has come up for a long weekend of stargazing. Every year, I make new friends, get to spend time with the “old buddies”, and even learn a little about astronomy! The photo to the left shows them setting up their telescopes in the top of field.
